History of the Berlin Presbyterian Church Archives.285.1 p.61
The name of Eliza Satterlee was among those of longest membership, from 1840 to her death in 1890. Within the past month, during a visit of Mrs. Gayle Stevens Reible,of Texas, we discovered that Mrs.Satterlee was the great grandmother of our childhood playmate. Gayle was a member of Berlin church from March 22,1914 until after her marriage, and a resident of the community. Her father,George ,was the son of Mrs. Satterlee's daughter,Mary Satterlee Stevens. Mrs. Reibl3 has sent us a scrap book kept by Mrs. Satterlee and her daughter in which many afamiliar name occurs.Three poems by Viola Dickerman and one by Edward dickerman are included. Household hints, how to keep barns odor free with a barrell of plaster"kept at hand for strewing, hints to young ladies on conduct and dress, poems and inspirational writings.there are obituaries of George Ridgeway, and his mother, Mrs.Samuel Adams, whose great granddaughter is our member Mrs. Helen White; of Loanda Nettleton, Mrs. Levens Ryant, Rev. John Thompson of Berlin, Mrs. Candace Stout,Mrs. Almira Lewis, daughter of pioneer Roswell Caulkins, Wilbur Caswell, Mrs. Ann Waterfield, Lucretia Nettleton Bockoven,Esther Nettleton Hoadley, Rev.James Darrah, former pastor at Berlin, a death notice from a Columbus paper for Samuel Ferson...Wedding are there: Wiil Taft and Josie Lewis, Lewis C.W.Dickerman and Jennie Caswell, John Gregg to Addie Comstock, A.Jay Dyer and Nora Mortgridge, Clyde Perfect to Blanche Foster, Blake Havens and Clara McKinnie, Florence Whitman and Emma Lewis,

Many names of church members of the first years mean nothing to us, though they may have left many descendants elsewhere. But there are names which are still related to people in the church and community. The Dickermans and Scotts are remembered by many, and have relatives nearby; Strongs back to deacon Lucius Strong, whose descendants include the Jaynes', Laura Barrows and her children, Bertha Ferson's family, Dorothy Crowner and her children, and others. The Bookoven name is knitted into many a family history and so is the name of Roloson; the Harry Buells and their children include both. The four Ferson brothers left many descendants, but of them all, Mrs.Barrows and her children, Mrs. Charles Hall,Mrs. Harriet Rymer and her brother John Ferson, W.L. Pierce, Mrs. Afton Freeman, the late Mary Van Auken Pierce, and the writer, are the only ones left in the church community. Mrs.Jeannette Post, who left the church and endowment, was Samuel's daughter, and her brother was James, the donor of the new brick church.

Eliza Satterly at the age of 64 was still living in Delaware,Ohio keeping house in Berlin Township. It says she was born in PA. I think she was born in NY.

From The Richwood Gazette Oct 23,1924

Vachel Ford Collier, aged 91 years, Richwood's oldest resident, succumbed to an attack of bronchitis at his home on West Ottawa St last Wednesday eveni8ng at 7:30 o'clock. In his passing, the town lost one of the very few remaining citizens who have had a part in building the community from the time when but two or three families had domiciled themselves in the virgin forest. When Mr Collier came here with his parents, theirs was the third cabin in what is now Richwood.

Mr Collier was born in Johnstown, Licking County, Feb 21 1833, the son of John and Mary Ford Collier. When he was three yrs.old, his parents moved to Prospect and a little later came to Richwood. He was married to Prudence Jane Murphy Dec 12 1855

During the many years in which he followed his occupation of carpenter, Mr Collier had a great deal to do with the building of the town, both in a material and a moral sense. After the town was incorporated, he was identified with many movements for good, but he never unduly ostruded himself. Mr collier was a member of the Richwood Masonic Order, the G.A.R. and the M.P. Church.

There survives one daughter, Mrs. Anna Belle Wells, two sons, Scott and John S., all of Richwood, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted at the home friday afternoon by the Rev. m.M. Campbell. The utualistic service of the G.A.R. was also given. Burial was made at Claibourne Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were in charge of Lyyoyd Winter.

Note; This was sent to me from Jason Blackford, a son of Isabel Collier Blackford,
granddaughter of Vachel Ford Collier.

I also have a volunteer enlistment papers sent to by Jason Blackford.

Collier, Charles Fremont {I1078} (b. 12 AUG 1858, d. 12 DEC 1888)
Note: Richwood Gazette Thurs.Dec. 20,1888
Charles Fremont Collier died in North Lewisburg on Dec. 15/17,1888 of typhoid fever.

He belonged to the Blazing Star Lodge,No.268, F. & A.M. There were 28 members of the Lodge at his funeral from North Lewisburg where he lived.

Charles Fremont Collier

Last Wednesday evening a telegrom from North Lewisburg announced the death of Charlie Collier. The news caused much sadness here, for nearly all his life had been spent in and about Richwood, where he had a large circle of relatives and many warm friends.

Charles Fremont Collier was born in Claibourne township in 1858 and was therefore at the time of his death something over 30 years of age. About eight years ago he went to North Lewisburg to accept a clerkship in a clothing store. There he married Miss Belle Beltz in 1884 and that was his home till he died. He joined the Blazing Star Lodge, No.268,F. and A.M. about 1 year ago when taken sick he was dealing in poultry and produce in Columbus and had made arrangements to move to that city. His sickness-typhoid fever, lasted four weeks.
The funeral took place in Richwood last Friday, being attended by a large number of people.

Twenty eight members of the North Lewisburg Lodge were present.
