Funeral for Mrs. Hulda Holloman Ellinwood, 91, of 1601 N. College Park Drive who died April 25, 1993, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, of which she was a member. Burial will be in Guilford Memorial Park. A native of Rich Square, she was a retired teacher, retired librarian of UNC-Chaper Hill, a member of the Greensboro Medical Auxiliary, and volunteer with the Greensboro Urban Ministry, the Cerebral Palsey School, and Moses H. Cone Hospital. At her church, she was a member of the Martha Ruth Circle, the Friendship Club, and Faselo Sunday School Class. Surviving are sons, Dr. Everett Hews Ellinwood Jr. of Durham, George Holloman Ellinwood of Raleigh; daughter, Elizabeth Ellinwood Price of Vienna, W.Va; sister, Miss Evelyn Holloman of Garner, six grandchildren. The family will be at Forbis & Dick North Elm Street Funeral Home 7-8:30 tonight. Contributions may be made to Friendship Club, c/o the Presbyterian Church of the Covenant, 501 S. CLARE ELLINWOOD' CO-PUBLISHED "DAILY STAR"
TUCSON -- Clare R. Ellinwood, former co-publisher and half owner of The Arizona Daily Star from 1930 to 1965, has died. She was 92. Mrs. Ellinwood, who died Sunday at her home, became co-publisher in partnership with William R. Mathews in 1930 after her husband, Ralph E. Ellinwood, died of heart failure at age 37.
"She was a fine and gracious lady who lost a husband in service to The Star, and a lady who continued the great traditions of journalism that her husband set before her," said Frank E. Johnson, former executive editor of The Star.
'She loved Tucson with her heart and soul, and treated her newspaper colleagues with respect and dignity," said Johnson, who retired in 1987.
After her husband's death, Mrs. Ellinwood played an active role in the planning and building of a plant for the newspaper and in directing the policies of the women's department of the newspaper.
She is survived by three children, Thomas R. Ellinwood of Deming, N.M., Betsey E. Miller of Arivaca, John C. Ellinwood of Tubac and 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Officials at The Star said funeral services will be private.

I checked with Karen Small at GM and there was no death listed for John. I checked with the Archives in Yarmouth and they did a thorough search and found no death either. I have listed John D. with John/Nancy until some one can prove differently.
